Today's the 30th anniversary of SDF Macross and I've had the OST playing all day in (cheesy 80's) celebration.

There's this teenager/youngman that periodically shops at my bookstore. He's got excellent taste in books. Like, really, really good taste, so good that every time he checks out I find myself almost envious that I didn't find what he bought first! I love helping him find books I know he'll like.

A few weeks ago he came by looking for a particular title we didn't have but that reminded me of another book, The Nature of Things by Lucretius. I knew, I just KNEW that he would really dig it. But by the time I found our copy of it he'd already left the store.

He came in today and I flagged him down to tell him about it. Walked over to the shelf, showed him the book and he said he'd take a look at it, so I wandered off to find some other things...

Ran into him a little while later and he had this huge smile on his face and emphatically stated, "I LOVE this book!"

Made. My. Freaking. Day! xD Helping people find books that I know they'll really like is just like CRACK for me.

I joined a Magic league today. Got a pretty lucky card set, including the new Niv-Mizzet. (Which is, humorously, one of the two rares that is not going in my deck.)

Donated blood today =D

As someone who is more likely to need blood than to have it be useful to others, thank you.

^ Everybody knows that O-type is valuable because lots of people can use it.
But sometimes people forget that it's valuable because it's the only type O-people can use.

My blood happens to be 0-type, but I was thinking more of having chronic borderline anemia. Not enough to warrant treatment, but it makes my blood rather useless to others, not to mention that I can't afford to miss much. I'm also not sure the meds I take wouldn't make a blood bank refuse me.

Had my final Teach for America interview yesterday, and thoroughly crushed it. Feels good man.

Yesterday was ridiculously awesome for multitube of reasons. Here's a few:

Got a lot of work done. Enough that I've had trouble finding some to do today.
Went to PetCo and got almost everything else I need for my kitten. (Except a scratching post.)
Saw the racing equivalent of Gurren Lagann with some friends.
