I helped an elderly woman. She grabbed my hand, pulled me close, and told me that she will ask God to bring me a nice girlfriend.

Of course my respect for the elderly compels me to thank her sincerely for her prayers. From behind her I can eye my companions, about to pop with suppressed laughter, trying to suspend the heavy weight of irony in the air.

Well to begin with, both of the women who accompanied me have made passes at me at some point or another prior, and they are both people I can mostly get along with. That aside, I just have no interest in companionship beyond friendship in general, regardless of age, gender or status. If that is not enough, there is a bit of a running gag where I have a hard time avoiding the affections of others, despite being a bit uggos and having a personality reminiscent of the cockroach. ¬ ¬ Last thing I want is some holy entity shoving more women towards me when there is only one person in this world of whom I will unconditionally voluntarily be around.

My buddy's mom found his stash of weed. But in the same cleaning spree she found those comics he borrowed months ago, safely bagged and undamaged. Score!

Got to spend Friday in Oakland area classrooms. That was a bunch of fun. Helped some little kid read Jack the Giant Killer. Some young class skipping thug asked me if I ever watched iCarly because I live in Seattle. Also for the first time in my life, I'm pretty sure, I was the only white person in a building with at least 50 people in it.

Also, pretty sure I did pretty well on my social studies exam. WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE BATTLE OF VICKSBURG.

Also, dear state of California, what you know about America-centrism on your standardized tests? Im not about to teach any kids that the Americans were the reasons the Nazis lost. Its probably a good thing I'm going to be teaching English.

Also some dude in a bar tried to give me free mushrooms after I spoke with him for all of 3 or 4 minutes. What the hell Oakland?
