This whole "no make-up" thing going around Facebook is so great in my opinion. I get that some girls express themselves through make-up or simply like looking the best they possibly can, whether with light make-up or more, and that's fine. The point is it's such a healthy thing to see all these girls loving who they are without anything else.
Also, I have some really fricking gorgeous friends. @__@

I think it was for cancer awareness, which is more dumb. I wasn't saying I supported the cause, but it's nice to see that people feel beautiful without makeup.

Today was a good day, the first truly smiley, laughy day I've had at work in over a year. Well over a year actually. I've forgotten how nice it really is

Calgary Comic Expo! I had fun, even with a sore ankle and having a tiny budget. My goal is 50 for the weekend, I spent 12 already. Also I got invited to a supper tomorrow with a friend that I talk to every year at Calgary/Edmonton's expo. He's a great guy and it's good to have connections.

I have been underpaid all year because of a clerical error during an HR employee transition at the exact same time I was hired. I legitimately didn't know what my salary was until the other day. This sounds really stupid and terrible, but it means that the school district owes me $6000, which I did not know I was getting. So thats pretty cool I guess.

I realized that mosquitoes cannot attack your legs if you wear really long pants! I've been wearing them for three days now! Now the mosquitoes can't kill me! Take that you freaks of nature! I HAVE OUTSMARTED YOU YET AGAIN!
In other news, I saw a lot of bats. Bats mean less mosquitoes. Heheheheh...

My bank finally realized that there was no fraudulent activity on my account and gave me back my money so I can order the last thing I needed for my new PC (1x8gb RAM).
I was expecting the case to come on Friday but it arrived today so that was a nice surprise too.

I know I just posted about my happiness yesterday but something 300% more happy happened!
For shoveling 3 large wheelbarrows of manure full of some sort of grubs that look like disgusting severed toes, I got paid thirty whole dollars!
Now when I get back to civilization, I can afford to buy both Knights in the Nightmare and Etrian Odyssey 2! Edit: Actually I'm probabbly gonna get Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked instead of EO2. Please don't kill me... Edit Again: Actually I think I'm gonna get EO2 instead of Knights in the Nightmare, so I'll be getting EO2 and Devil Survivor Overclocked. Again, don't kill me...
Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Also tell your kitten I said hi!

I was digging around on my computer, trying to find stuff to delete (I've got less than 100GB of space left) and I came across the files for my major project from the last TAFE course I did. This made me happy as it reminded my of a) how much easier my life is now that I have finished that nightmarish series of courses and b) how proud I am of myself for actually getting said project fully functioning.
If anybody is curious, we had to design, build and program a microprocessor controlled device of some kind. That was the only requirement, but you had to get the teacher to sign off on your idea before you started so that you couldn't do anything too simple. Some guy tried to get away with building an LED fader. It was pretty funny watching the teacher shoot that one down.
Anyway, I'd always wanted to get a LEGO Mindstorms kit, but never did, for obvious reasons (hint: I'm not a millionaire). I decided to spoil myself and use this project as an excuse to get one and I used it to build a robot that plays through the first act of Sonic 2 without getting hit and collecting as many rings as is possible without going left (I wanted to do it, but making the robot able to press another button just made the whole build way too complicated and I didn't have time to iron out the kinks in the design).
Unfortunately I don't have any video footage of it in action, but here's a few images to give you an idea:
The only downside to doing this project was that it made me hate that act.
