I'm happy today because for the first time in a long time I met a good stranger... if that makes any sense. She talked to me about biology and how she went sky-diving and a whole mess of other stuff. She even gave me candy! She didn't like Twizzlers and so she gave me all her Twizzlers. In the end she left and she said bye to me. I hope I meet her again; she was so cool! Oh and I found out, as we were talking, that she lied to me! She said she was 28 when clearly her physical features screamed out 19! 21 at the most...

we were in last place after the second round, and were in 4th place down 11 points going into the final round

We thought that we totally bombed the final round, but it turns out one of the questions I just completely and utterly guessed on ... was correct! 100% guess, and I totally got it right, and was the only person to get it right, so we got double points!

Also I've had WAY TOO MUCH CAFFEINE today and will likely not sleep for several hours.

So, I'm pretty ridiculously happy today. I say ridiculous because I started my morning waking up from a nightmare in which a dear friend of mine had gone psychotic-killer on myself and some other friends who were over at my house (which was half house and half giant library). She was attaching people to the wall with a nail gun through the arm. Fortunately, the dream sort of fast-forwarded to the part where everyone survived and the killer was gone. In a second, follow-up dream, I was being chased around the outside of a house by a crazed Elvis impersonator with a gun. Sounds comical, felt terrifying.

THEN, on my way to work, I got into my first real car accident. I was just driving along and some young woman decided she wanted to make a U-turn... from the center lane... across the left lane... where I was. She didn't see me at all, and I didn't see her until I was pretty much engine-deep into her driver-side rear door. I'll admit, I screamed a little as I slammed on the brake. But she was really nice. Young. Pregnant. I was late to work.

THEN I got to work and the settings that my coworker was messing with yesterday made it so that I couldn't log onto my computer, which means I can't work. I'm in the office by myself today because one person is on vacation and the other is out of town. So...

Ridiculously, I still feel really happy and peaceful today. I'm thinking about splurging on a nice lunch.

So, after reading my partner's foreward to a short story I wrote, I feel happy. xD A lot of people were liking the story, but I feel like I was a bit annoying by going to the teacher with a polished draft every time one was due and saying, "; o ; IT'S 18 SINGLE SPACED AND I'M STILL NOWHERE NEAR HALF FINISHED."

Also, my parents are coming on Sunday. <33 I get my other handheld systems, my camera, and my coats.

Sometimes, mostly when I've been drinking, I remember that my father was a man before he was ashes, and my heart sinks.

But then. Mysteriously. It rises again. Maybe because of the man he was. Or maybe because of the man he made me.

But it doesn't matter. When I think of him, pain is quick to set in, but it is soon evaporated in favor of happiness, and hope, and love.
