/brb moving to rant thread

I got to see my nephew today. 2 months old and he smells of greatness.

So about a week ago my Comm teacher told us about an upcoming speech competition that would be held at out college and he encouraged us to join. He offered extra credit and about more than half the class was on-board at that point. Emrin here, although this may sound too good to be true or like a total lie, joined the competition JUST for fun. Just to have some more experience in this public speaking thing. And in the end... I won first place T_T

After 2 rounds I got to go to the finals. Then the 6 of us who made it to the finals read our speeches one final time and the judges got to thinking. Then we all got called in together and they began naming the 6th place winner, 5th place winner and so on. As the announcer was dwindling down to 1st place I kept hoping my name would get called soon. There were only 6 (SIX) people who spoke and only 6 (SIX!) people in the finals. The announcer hit 2nd place and I was like: "This is it! This is me!" But no. He called someone else. Then the 3 friends I had brought along for support, one of which being CD-Man, turned to look at me with astonishment in there eyes. Then some random girl in the audience turned to look at me and she smiled because she too knew who had won first place. Then the announcer called out the winner for 1st place... and I could not believe it.

At this very moment I still can't believe it. I got a neat medal and a cash prize of 100 bucks. But that's not what I care about lol I feel like at any moment I'll wake up from this dream. Today was an amazing day. One of the happiest I've had in months.
