So, my best friend is sending me Ravenloft and Red Blade modules in the mail, as a very late Christmas present. xD Thus, I have an excuse to drag her into a campaign and since I'm at school, my roommate is joning us. Since neither played a healer, I'm playing the party's healbot.

Ravenloft is most likely going to be after we do Slaughtergarde, because wanna give my friend a taste of what it's like to develop a character from level 1 (Ravenloft is 7th level, I believe). So, here's our party currently:

Brigolwyn- Half Elf; Bard
Gorthus- Halfling; Fighter
Wally- Human; Cleric

This is my first time playing Cleric and honestly, I might play it some more. XD The "Celestial Triceratops" sold me. I'm Neutral Good, so it works.

I'm also giving a mini-session to serve as a tutorial for my friend and myself, because I never DM'd before. For the sake of storyline Brig and Wally are already affiliated with the Luminous Order (something in Slaughtergarde) So, here's the scenario:

This kind of might work as a prologue for the campaign too, so we know how the heck our characters met (outside of the RP my friend and I ended up doing for Brig and Wally, which is just fun and adorable).

This session's taking place this Friday, so I'll post how this went, then.

__________________________

In other news, in that homebrew of my one friend's, we finally finished a campaign and got a timeskip. So, in the four years between the end of the campaign here is what my character did:

DM also took a suggestion of mine, regarding a clone of my character I created during one of my many chaos storms. I suggested making her her own character and making her the leader of a party to serve as our rivals. We just merely kick the other's ass, but if we lose we don't die. He rolls for loot against us and takes something from us.

Lastly, I haven't mentioned this other character in awhile, because my DM won't let me talk about her, but I do feel a little proud knowing my first character's(Cider) daughter, Vodka, is among the strongest in the world at only 17. xD They grow up so fast. ; o ; I remember training her when she was only 6...

I have to learn how to DM for AD&D 2e for Saturday. I've played like, 3 sessions of 3.5 ever, two of which were online. This might go badly.

2nd Edition isn't terrible, I hear. It's gimmicky. The father of my roommate's friend played it and had a dice to serve as the "body hit" dice. There was some sort of chart that dictated what part gets hit and when.

I'm pretty good at making stuff up on the fly, and I have a bunch of optional events roughly planned out. Should be fine.

Disclaimer: The simplifications I made might make people who play this game cringe/vomit.

Anyways, I simplified the shit out of it so it is easy for me and the players. I hope they feel it is fun enough... None of them have played it so they have nothing to compare it to, heh.

Anyways, basically I got a bunch of lego heads and hats, and a few colored 1 bricks to mount them on.

To start they'll get to make a little player to see when fighting enemies. I won't be doing battles on a grid, but I needed something to show positions and this was the best thing I could come up with on short notice. (The few people I told thought it was a good idea.)

They'll be traversing a simple map I made, but one of them will be drawing it EO style. The whole first mission is like EO's, map out the area to become an official town adventurer. I have a few different NPC's I can control that can appear in a battle if they're doing badly to help them out. I also have a BUNCH of optional scenarios planned out like the mini-events in EO games, depending on how they're doing I can help or hinder them.

For weapons, they have to choose between a 1d6 melee weapon (they can call it what they want so they feel special) or a 1d6 bow, and also a 1d4 dagger or a 1d4 sling. This will keep things easy but still give them some options in battle. I took out magic, the concept terrified me and I didn't feel as if I could make it work. So they're all basically fighters and rely on healing items. If this isn't working they'll find some in a treasure chest when they need it.

I kept skills mostly the same, but took out a few like ride, and merged a few similar ones. EXP will be awarded as a group so new players can join in at any time. I probably won't level them up for a while though until I figure out what I want to do with that. I'll keep them satisfied with gear in the meantime.

Don't hate me for butchering the game, I did the best I could to make it simple but still fun. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Just got back. The first few battles went badly, but once I got the hang of it it went smoothly and everybody had a blast. It was really stressful for me, but everybody said they loved it and only had a few minor complaints. There's still some stuff I need to work out for the next campaign but I did well and feel all accomplished and happy right now.

A friend of mine asked if we could have a crossover between his super hero campaign (Save Metro City!) and my Hunter campaign. There was just too much potential for awesome for me to refuse.

The explanation is that this is actually a parallel universe version of Explosion Force (the cell in my Hunter campaign). This leads to some interesting differences between the two. For example, Allen the Disgruntled Ghost and Charlie the Glorious Asshole have pretty much switched places. Isaac Damon's dad totally told him about his demonic ancestry on his 18th birthday. Brian McLane is still a drunk even though his reason for being so no longer applies here. (Having a sober McLane is just too weird.) Arther Spencer's slasher-sense doesn't have him constantly wanting to choke-a-bitch. Oh, and David Thorn DIDN'T become the Horseman of War. I'd say over all this is a lighter and happier setting. XD

Bought Pathfinder rulebooks today for next Saturday. For my next mission I'll have them do the Pathfinder character sheets, and choosing classes right when they arrive. (For the first campaign I told them they were level 1 no-class characters last time to give me time to figure out what my long-term plans were.) The problem was last session I made up rewards on the fly and most of them got really awesome gear and stuff that was slightly game-breaking so early on. So early in the mission they'll be on a boat (motherfucker) and it'll capsize and they'll lose their gear and stuff. I hope this doesn't tick them all off. To remedy this, when they wash up on shore a friendly high-leveled Paladin will give them money to go buy gear from the shop, using actual in-game items and not my cheap shit I made up. They mentioned wanting to shop, and I think they'll be fine with this.

Side note, it's hard to plan awesome things and not tell your friends who will be playing.

So, this session introduced Makak(or Maka for short), the split personality of Eurdik. She's going to be incredibly fun, because I have a method to my madness for her. She's kind of a Neutral Evil character, now that I think about it. Her protocol for all encounters is attempting to charm/befriend them. If that fails, she attempts to drug them and then try a charisma battle that way. If the drugs fail, she will just kill you. She wants to befriend everything, because the world is much nicer that way. XD Right now, her drugs calm people or make them debilitatingly aroused. The latter can't backfire on me, because I have a magical item I got in the final dungeon of our previous campaign that prevents people from thinking sexual thoughts about my character in either personality. So, Maka takes advantage of this and essentially becomes this very dominatrix like woman. XD She's the yandere of the group.

So far, I've befriended a metallic spinosaurus and a ghost, which I have both named after Stands (Scary Monster and Hierophant, respectively.). Eurdik converted a ninja girl to her religion, promising her incredible power and better training.

i played in a really fun PathFinder campaign last year

it didn't last an incredibly long time due to the dm's real life issues.

but i enjoyed it. i basically played a half-elf bard who was the medieval version of a reyvateil (see: Ar Tonelico) and got to do cool things with the power of ~*~song~*~. also i got knocked out and almost died in the very first fight of the campaign and got a shiny for it.

My friend requested being a bard when we switched to Pathfinder, and I was like urrrgh. But when I studied up on them last night I realized how awesome it would be to play one. They sound SO fun.

Anyways, today when the npc cleric I had accompany the group was dying after being hit by the boss of today's campaign, and our bard used his only healing spell and rolled a 1. Fuuuck. They keep killing my NPC's I have plans for. xD

Also they were fighting skeletons and most of them only had swords which weren't doing any damage, so I let them use bones from skeletons they had killed as weaker clubs. It was a super fun campaign, and I'm getting better at this. Pathfinder is better to run for a novice like me.
