In one round we had our rouge distracting our npc cleric when my friend was dicking around irl, (that rats on his hands made him sick, don't worry.) Our bard was failing his song, and our fighter critically failing his attack. Our tank was absent from this session. I immortalized it all for our group's facebook banner.

Drifter playtest last Friday was amazing. Highlight was when Shorty McGee (one of the bounty hunters) ran up the ladder to try to get away from the players. Unfortunately, a barrel had shifted there during the flight (that'll happen when dragons bump into an airship) and he critically failed his roll to not get hit knocking over the barrel. One of the players then suggested that there might be explosives in this barrel (there was reason to believe there might be) and the dice gods gifted the players with a "yes". The barrel and the three explosives inside ended up dealing 75 damage, exactly half of Shorty's maximum. Unfortunately, he only had 65 health. The death roll came up even, so Shorty died in a fiery explosion.

The necromancer promptly raised his corpse to fight for the players.

In today's session I made an NPC rogue to interact with the party. Her name was Rouge. Fuck your rules, Noodles.

Rouge is a funny character. See, rouge is both red make up and gem polish.

edit: And apparently I can't spell rouge correctly.

I haven't kept up with D&D Next, but I'm looking over the current class-PDF and it seems nice.

I like the background things like being a "Hill Dwarf" or a "Mountain Dwarf," but I don't particularly like how it's becoming even MORE streamlined. I have a friend, who likes playing Fighter, and he is dsappointed in how Fighter got the shaft even more.
