Unless it's localization gives it more time to work on the game (like EOII), I doubt they'll add anything like that.
Besides, from what I've seen about handheld multiplayer games like Monster Hunter Portable, Dragon Quest IX, and other games with offline-only multiplayer, the Japanese prefer that type of gaming experience over the more online-addicted Westerner's idea of a "good time".
LOL, the Japanese regularly go outside and hang out at McDonald's locations to play 2nd G all the time.
Meanwhile, us Americans sit in our basements like hikikomori, anonymously playing Halo, Call of Duty, and WoW. Staying online for days at a time. And then go to McDonald's.

Usually around here there is metal railing or something that serves as just as good a bike rack as a bike rack itself.
I should mention that I finally drove out of my neighborhood yesterday. I was a nervous wreck before doing it, but it ended up being easier (in my opinion) than driving through neighborhoods, where you have to constantly worry about parked cars or cats in the road. My neighborhood in particular has cats at every damn house it seems. I don't want to hit a kitty ;___;

Its been some time now since I've actually driven a car. I walk pretty much everywhere, and take the bus everywhere else. A lot of people complain about not having a car, but I find you adapt after a while.
Additionally I never have to be sober.
Though I live in a fairly urban area, so its made a little easier by everything being packed together. Its a huge pain in the ass in the suburbs, not having some form of personal transportation. In the next year or so I'll probably leave Seattle, and have to go back to that loathsome task of driving. Perhaps I'll just by a bike. Though one with an engine, because I love pollution.
