@Zamisk - Hmmmmmmm... Well, how well-rounded is your knowledge of popular authors and titles? For example, some of the questions I got in my interview were along the lines of "If a customer said they liked Patricia Cornwell, who would you recommend they read next?" That kind of stuff is really important because many, many customers are reliant upon your recommendation which can also drive sales... So, learning what authors are similar to one another even in the genres you don't read is a pretty big mark in your favor. : D I can recommend a couple of websites I used when I was getting started with that, actually. There's www.literature-map.com and then www.fantasticfiction.co.uk has a good list at the bottom of any given author's page.
