It's too much trouble, for me, though I do understand where Maxine is coming from on it. I actually had a female friend tell me point-blank that in professional office type environments women themselves respect you less if you don't wear make-up. This is why I work in a bookstore. I have neither the patience nor the skills for it, and I feel clownish and false in it anyhow.
As for animal cruelty and whatnot, more and more companies are starting up that specifically avoid animal testing. 100% Pure is the only one I know of, and I LOVE their stuff. Their lotions are literally edible because they are so pure. They taste a little oily but if you added a little agave nectar or honey you'd have a mighty fine (though expensive) yogurt type thing.

Re: Introduce yourself here! Or say farewell!
Figured I should actually introduce myself here. I got EOII for my birthday a few years back, and got hooked on the series. I don't really ever say much or have much to say, so you probably won't see too much of me except on the rp thread; but I figured a more proper intro was in order.

@Make-up:
There's a difference between putting make up to look "sexy" and putting make up on to look "professional". I would never say to put on gallons of make up. Of course you would look trashy after that. However, taking time to cover up zits, dark circles under the eyes, and covering up any beauty marks. Personally I forgo the eye stuff. I hate eyeliner. I can't stand the pencil coming close to my eye and I just think it looks sick and is going in the other direction than my desired look.
With my meetings with my client, I wanted to pass myself off not as a nerdy 28 year old who likes games, doesn't get out much, and generally wears wrinkled clothing that she probably wore yesterday - but as a career-minded female who looked not only as if she knew what she was doing but was also going to look after my client's best interests at the same time. I'm sure my client could see through the fake facade. I'm a computer nerd afterall. But I took the time and energy out of my busy schedule to dress up for our meeting. That speaks volumes.
It's the stupid things that count. Even when I broke out my computer to show off the website I had gone to the trouble of changing my desktop each time for the meeting. Sorry. My super cool Umineko wallpaper is awesome, but, I tucked it away and decided to show case cats instead. Appearances is everything.
It doesn't even take that much make up. All I do is put on that concealer stuff, brush on a little blush, and put a bit of lipstick on. ... This way my client didn't have to see the baggy dark circles under my eyes caused by staying up to 4am every morning working on his website. ^_^;;

Re: Introduce yourself here! Or say farewell!
I personally don't wear make-up, but maybe later?
*shrug*
Still don't like little 5th grade girls wearing it though >_> but it's their choiceee
Also, WOW I haven't been on here in forever! Gotta stop playing Harvest Moon o.o;
