That was kinda my initial reaction, too. But as long as one takes good care of teeth I guess there isn't any particular need for regular visits to a dentist.

Still, it's surprising that someone could have never been to a dentist in their entire life.

Last time I was to a dentist was when I was ... 5? Well I know I was living in South Carolina and we moved away from there when I was 6. So around there.

And it's not that I don't WANT to go and I certainly do need it, but well... my parents... I dunno. It's not that they didn't care for us, obviously the did, but dental hygenie just isn't a big factor for them. Which was kinda sad because my mom has a gum disease and part of me always wonders what a dentist could have done to try to help the situation. My dad, through the navy, had all of his teeth replaced (he knocked nearly all of them out of his head while he was growing up).

I have hillbilly parents, what do you want from me? >_> I do really want to go, too. My wisdom teeth need pulled in the most desperate of ways and there's one tooth that needs to be filled in a bit. But now I'm off of their insurance. Finally... now that I'm old enough to be my own health advocate and understand.

I don't hold it against them and I don't feel weird for admitting it. *shrugs* And a part of me does have a certain prejudice against dentists who I think out of the whole health care profession are nothing but money sucking vampires - and this is just from hearing the stories from friends and relatives.

On the whole ^_^ I like my teeth. I think I've done a fairly good job taking care of them. Might have a cavity here or there but nothing that's ever bothered me. Also could be whiter but... *shrugs* ... I don't like mint... so toothpaste and even just fricken' gums are a particular torture for me to endure. <_< You try sticking the most disgusting tasting thing in your mouth and be expected to hold it there and swish it around. >_<

^_^; As a child, the moment that I was done brushing my teeth I immediately drank a big gulp of pepsi... much to my mom's annoyance and obviously sorta probably counteracted the whole action of brushing my teeth in the first place before bed. BUT IT IS NASTY!!

... Even now regularly brushing my teeth is something I could work on... -_- I won't lie. I try to at least once a week at LEAST.... <_<;;
