Im new here and since I always post in the "Newbie" thread to say hello in every other forum, this wouldn't be an exception.
Just got EO4 which is my first Etrian Odyssey game. I played the demo out of curiosity and I loved it to death. I've played a good amount of dungeon crawlers and hated them but EO gave me some hope and I've become more accepting to the DC-Rpg genre.
Mainly here to talk about EO obviously, but I'd like to make some friends along the way!
So yeah.. hi!

Hey, Soul! Welcome to the forums! ^_^ Glad to hear that you are enjoying EOIV so much. If you are looking for friends, you've come to the right place!
In regards to your question: I LOVE the first game. NONE of the other titles have replaced it in my heart.
What ever you decide, it would be best to pick up the games soon. They are currently in reprint, but Atlus never releases titles for long.

Despite the polish and flair EOIV has, EOII will always be one of my very favorite games. I wasn't crazy about EOIII, but looking back it was a necessary step towards the brilliance of EOIV. I know other members love EOIII, but it wasn't my favorite. I have yet to pick up EOI, but I will eventually.
