I dunno about EOIV but I do know that there are a bunch of new things that they included in the game that you might have fallen in love with that you might be disappointed to not see in the previous games.
EO is very simplistic in terms of the other games in the series. :3 Me - I liked that simplicity.
The frequent favorites list of others seems to go:
EOII
EOI
EOIII
From the excitement, I'm going to pin EOIV on the top of the list, but I dunno if that's just hype, so I'll wait a few months to see how people feel about it after the hype has faded.

That's how a lot of people feel and not everybody even can say a good reason why. It's fun, but it doesn't feel like EO for me for a few reasons.
Also my fucks your signature is mesmerizing.

Actually da Rules have a limit on sig size, you should make sure it's closer to fitting. I think it's 500 pixels high altogether, and I don't think yours is even close.

they can be as high as 200.
if you include the steamcard mine is over by like 10 pixels or something but I think I cleared with people on the grounds that it isnt annoying or much bigger than just having text underneath

I dunno if you edited or not, but from what I see it clears the rules.
We are... "lax" about certain rules and this is one of them. Seriously, as long as it is not annoying anyone or breaking the forums I have no real care.
Noodles is a perfect example. He's a mod, and it's obviously his whole signature is way over the limit. ... I don't have a problem with it. It's just a little over.
I don't have any rules about animations, either, but if they start slowing down the page loading times in anyway or start to annoy I'll ask if you could change.
Off hand, everything looks fine. ^_^ No problem here.

I would suggest not-EO1. It's a great game, but it doesn't have a quicksave feature or the ability to move sideways with L/R. Also respecing makes you lose 10 levels. I haven't played EO2 a whole lot, but the little I have feels VERY solid. Expect to die a few times starting out, though. ^_^" EO3 is... I'm not sure. There's certain parts where it excels, and others where it feels like it's let me down.
