I haven't been on in a while, since I haven't had access to the internet. A few days ago it was my the anniversary of my Dad's death and my Mom doesn't do too well this time of year, so me and my sister drove down to spend a while with her.

I somehow got roped into playing Poleconomy, an Australian board game; think Monopoly, but with companies instead of property, a lot more potential for strategy but also a few key dice roles that can give a player a HUGE advantage or disadvantage. To demonstrate that last sentence, I'll give an example. At the start of the game everyone rolls the dice and the result is multiplied by 10,000 and becomes their base income for the rest of the game. The board has a bunch of "income" squares that have a number from 1-10 on it and landing there gets you your income multiplied by that number. I got a 3 and my sister got an 11, so landing on a 10x income square gets me $30,000, but would get her $110,000. How the hell is that fair? She also won the dice roll to see who starts as Prime Minister (I won't get into details, but this gives her a number of pretty big advantages).

This let her completely dominate early game and, by the time I had enough money to really do anything, the game was essentially already decided (despite it still taking many more hours to actually finish).

This post kind of turned into a rant, oh well.

So, I ended up joining the fandom because of a role-play. At the time, I hadn't so much as heard of Etrian Odyssey, much less have enough knowledge to join a role-play of Etrian Odyssey. But Micromeichi asked me to join, and I thought, "Why not?" As you can see, that's led me to joining this side. And Micromeichi's insisting. XD
As you can see, my username is Joseyposey, but please, call me Jo! All of my friends do.

Our Roleplay sub-forum has lately been rather empty as of late, so you might not find all to much to do there (I started a Roll to Dodge awhile back, but nobodies really joined yet I don't think...), but hopefully you can still find stuff to talk about with us nerds.
