"Grab a book at random" is something I've already done. I looked up the sample of 1st to Die. :\ Will be my next book purchase, but I have no high hopes for it.

I grabbed that (and 2nd Chance) on a whim back when i was in High School. Reading to keep me busy on a flight. Started my fascination with the books until the aforementioned point later in the Cross series.
I won't pretend that they're super sophisticated great pieces of literature but they were enjoyable from start to finish and, really, that's all you can ask of them in the end.

Yes but is it what I'm interested in, do you think?

Hm... I would say possibly. It has cheesy romance bits because they're necessary for some bizarre reason. The book also does a lot of chapters from the killer's perspective to try and build up tension that depends on you on how you want to take it, I suppose.

lol Well nowadays who can come up with the complete series? I mean 54 books and like 7 side stories. That was a lot of reading and too much money spent for some people back then. And if your looking for the entire series now you'll need a lot of money as well lol. I want the whole series nonetheless :3 I miss Animorphs. For my final in my English class this year I chose Animorphs as my topic and over the span of about a week I did some interesting things in my class. Everyone was so confused and yet everything worked out so well lol
And don't worry about that weird stuff in my sig, it's just me trying something new lol

I think the Rowling wizarding world might have an inferiority complex or something. Look at their unhealthy fixation with being Not Muggles. Look at how much policy they have for staying different and special. They only let muggle-tech through when it's so old few remember where from it came.
I wonder how much they invest in research, though. I know they have at least a couple of people slowly poking through toasters and cars, and they have some people checking out endangered dragons. There seems to be a large sector dedicated to candy engineering, as well.
And they have a lot of more or less abandoned archives to go through. So I guess they need more museum staff.
Edit: I think I'm tired. Watch video; go to bed.
