<3 I love my nook.
:3 Scy, you should totally get a nook and then we could do "loans" and such for each other if we wanted. (<-- me being cheap and hoping to read something for free) XD

I've got a Nook (it was a gift), but I don't really use it much... I work in a bookstore! I get physical books for so little money it's hard for me to spend $9.99 on any given Nook title. T-T Though it has been nice to be able to side-load free ebooks from the various blogs I follow so's I can curl up with them instead of reading at my computer.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Its all about what features you value I think. The Kindle definitely lags behind the Nook in terms of range of features, but my Kindle has been really awesome to me as a device simply for reading. But I get distracted pretty easily, so less features is probably good for me.
Really though, being able to carry a small library around with me has really increased the amount I actually read, which is really nice. Also its come in really handy this quarter as two of my courses (History of Christianity, History of the Crusades) have been very referential to the Bible. So rather than carrying a Bible in addition to whatever I'm reading (Harry Potter, so that might become cumbersome), I just carry the device.

Yes, the mobility factor is kind of nice. It's definitely lighter than a lot of books out there, and I am one of those people who used to fill half my suitcase/bag with books when traveling (even when I knew I wouldn't get a chance to read any of them!).
Really the only flaw I've found has been the prices of the books themselves as compared to their physical, previously-read counterparts.
/el-cheapo ^ ^;;;

@PLA - xD Yes, that's all my parents would tolerate when I was still living with them and we would go to visit relatives. Now, I just don't travel that much, and I'm also working very hard to only read ONE book at a time. It has proven a challenge, but worth it. Seems like I'm reading more and actually completing more books this way...
@Starfe - Very true! So many of the classics are dirt cheap if not absolutely free... though I did kind of sidestep the need for them on my Nook when I bought for my DS. ^ ^;; I love it. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
@Trifkin: Your glowing recommendation of that game/book collection makes me reconsider buying it. What's the comprehensive list of books on it?
@Kino: I am also squeeing at Melusine arriving sometime today. I'm nearly finished with Changeless, so I should be able to start on it tonight after I've done my writing.
*squees with Kino*
Strange Fortune looks like fun and Josh Lanyon is supposed to be quite good! He's written a ton of m/m stuff but this is his first fantasy novel. I'm pretty much always up for supporting Blind Eye Books. I simply cannot wait for Hale's next novels, Lord Foster's Devils (sequel to Wicked Gentlemen? Why yes!) and Blood Under the Throne (OMFG SHAKESPEARE!?).
@Song of Ice and Fire: I had a friend recommend this to me a couple years back, an though it sounded well-crafted I didn't find it quite what I was looking for at the time. Scy/Kino/etc, what do you say recommends these books? Anyone willing to provide a short review?
Also, I'm pleased to know that lesbian and gay characters are abounding in even popular fiction as of late. Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate is fairly rife with them, a fact I did not realize when I got into the series.
This, combined with mainstream works like Havemercy, gives me a lot of hope for the future of LGBT presence in fantasy and other popular novels.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
You can view it alphabetically by title, author or genre. There are also ten additional books that you can download via wi-fi! /has all of them
I adore it, but part of that is probably due to the fact that the size and shape of the DS Lite is my most favoritest book size ever ever ever. And hardly any books ever get published that small. And I like having the two-page format, like a real book! And I love the classics! /could go on and on

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Finally got the Last Continent, Art of War since it was cheap, and Leviathan by Scott Westfield since I've heard some things about it, and Steampunk is always interesting (to me).
When you're alone, always remember:
Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
@Technomancer - I almost picked up Behemoth today! But I don't have Leviathan and I'm one of those people who must start things from the beginning. You'll have to let us know if it's any good! : O
Speaking of steampunk... I really need to write a review for All Men of Genius, soon!
> .< ;;; I already told the author I'd be posting it within the next week or two and now he's all anxious and aaahhhhhhh!
