You asked her to write that, or did she know about your obsessions?

I specifically requested her to write that

Did you have to explain 'fujoshi'?

I may or may not have insinuated that I merely have a friend named fujoshi

It doesn't even sound like a name. Then again, if you can tell that, you'd probably already know the meaning.

I have no commentary to add to this particular conversation. ^_^ It's brilliant on its own. XD

Finished A Clash of Kings. I definitely feel like it's better than its prequel.

UGGGG DAMMIT!!! Wednesday will not come fast enough. Tomorrow I know I'm going to be sitting on my bed at midnight WAITING for Shadow of Night to be released. >_< GYAAAAAAAH! I HATE HATE HATE waiting for books.

*sigh*

Wednesday? New books 99% of the time get released on Tuesday, including Shadow of Night. Street date was July 10th for that one.
Incidentally I'm about to finish The Song of Achilles. They're at Troy now and therefore I'm reading it to get done with it; I know what's going to happen. I think that's the problem with literary fan-fiction like this. I mean, what's the real suspense here? The book has an amazing first half when she gets to basically make everything up and surprise the reader, but then eventually you have to start pulling from canon and it loses the magic.

I can't wait to read that one, Kino. I think I'm the only person on the waiting list for it at work.
So I'm forcing myself to keep reading A Once Crowded Sky. I dunno what's wrong with me because I know this is supposed to be a great read but I'm just not feeling it.
I found myself idly examining my copies of the Lord of the Rings books... Apparently I'm missing The Fellowship of the Ring but I ended up starting The Two Towers anyway. These books are so near and dear to me. I get all sentimental, especially 'cause these are the copies my mum gave me to read back in middle school. So now I have an excuse to visit other bookstores this weekend in search of the light blue paperback "special silver jubilee edition" of the first book so's my set will match.

!
I have the same edition! I think. Or mine are the golden jubilee. They're paperbacks in a foil boxset

Are the other two books green and red? Does the back cover look like an old tattered scroll?
I dunno if these came in a box set, 'cause Mom bought 'em in the 80s.

Yeah! That should be them.
This is kinda what my set looks like:
edit to add: I got my boxset at a used bookstore. So far as I know, these were only issued in the 80s and are fairly hard to find in a complete set with box like I have

That is the precise set! Although I've never had that edition of The Hobbit, so either Mom lost that and the box or she just found the trilogy by itself somehow.
Pretty sure this makes us bookmates, Kino. (book soulmates)
