Is that Book Girl and the Famished Spirit you're looking for?

I'd have to follow up on Monday with my rep to be sure, but I think I can get that for you at a reasonable price (like $10). I have no idea what the actual stock situation is, but according to the info I'm looking at here ... Huh. It's available.

Otherwise I've got an ace up my sleeve contact I can scope out to double-check some warehouse inventory. I'll throw them an email now and see what I can scrounge up for you.

@books

I finished Song of Achilles, read Magic Mansion (omfg so retardedly cutely good), and also read The Great Gatsby. Currently reading Angel 1089.

Yes, that would be the book. I've ordered it currently but it's on backorder from the place I got it from (though, actually, I have no record of said order hrm) so if your route is quicker, I'm all kinds of down for it.

I wondered if you or Trifkin would've been able to help on that situation but I just kind of jumped on the first opportunity that presented itself. Well, we'll see. I'm still waiting on my copy of the actual first book before I can sit down and do some reading.

Books 3 - 5 are taunting me. Oh are they taunting me.

Certain sections would just be us clinging to each other and crying.

Finished a book. The book itself is I don't want to say 'average' but it's not the greatest material in the world either. It's a very good story, made remarkably better by the end. It's kinda like the movie Sixth Sense. The movie itself is sorta "oh, ok, this is good" until the ending when it's "OMG! OH SHIT!! THAT'S SO INCREDIBLE!!"

The ending was good but by it's very nature left some very disturbing unanswered questions.... ok, only one, but... GAH!! @_@

It's definitely earned its place on my recommendations list: Defending Jacob. Check it out. ^_^ I was rather impressed with it.

Storm of Swords was fun. It was easily the best book in the series so far. Probably because all of the different plotlines are starting to intertwine and the story feels a lot more layered.

Some thoughts:

*sigh* I think I'm giving up Game of Thrones. I just can't do it anymore.

I like certain characters, but their focus is so small and slight, and half the time it does not make up for the boredom I feel towards the rest of the book. Even the allure of possible dragons in the future is just not enough. There is only one character right now that I could possibly continue the book for (Bran) but... is it really worth it... especially when there are so MANY OTHER characters I HATE (HusbandWife, Bastardboy, "Lannisters" which includes everyone from Tyrion to his siblings, Ditzy Princess)? ... And yes, I DO NOT like Tyrion. I like his story but his character could fall into a fucking fire and I would enjoy it, too. And you'll note the lack of names because honestly I don't even care enough to even try to remember them.

:( Sorry guys. I gave it my all.

Different strokes etc. etc.

I'd say you're still in the setup parts of the story but if you can't latch onto any characters shown so far, might as well stop now. Forcing yourself to continue reading won't end up making it more enjoyable even if things do get better.

Potentially you'd get more out of the show but "lolz sexposition" and all.

I've read about as much as you have, Maxine, maybe a bit more. I don't think I was ever actually bored while reading it it's just... Dany's storyline squicked me out too much.

Am need this book.

Adding to the list.

EDIT:
OMG I need someone here to read The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear so that we can squee together over . WANT WANT WANT. I also wouldn't mind the pipes necklace. Curse you fantasy novelists for making me care about jewelry! D:

@GoT:

Scy, your words to me before were what prompted me to give the book another go. I did. I started from Chapter 1 and I got this far.

To begin with: Yeah, the names you posted are correct and the reason I put "HusbandWife" together was more or less laziness because I meant to put a & in there but missed the key and didn't feel like backspacing.
