DAMMIT!! I keep looking at Nook Daily Finds even after I tell myself that I'm not going to purchase another book until I read at least three books that I already have on my nook.

But when you keep seeing books you want that are normally $10-$12 on sale for $1-$3.... HOW CAN YOU RESIST?!!
.... *deletes her quick book mark* There. I'm done. No more. I've got too many books to read. When I start becoming desperate again I'll start looking up sales.... .....

help me....

Decide how much you're going to spend before you go look for books. Before you know the prices. This number is a maximum, not a minimum.
I wish I'd figured out that plan out earlier. Would have saved me a lot of money on Steam games...

I'm very lucky to work in a bookstore that gives me free advance copies of books (in exchange for book reviews for our website and Goodreads account) and allows me to borrow used ones whenever I like! And! Twice a year we mark down 75,000 of our books to a dollar or less and guess who gets the sale books fo' free? Yup. The staff.

Will you be able to keep working there when you move?

Nopes. It's an indie bookstore with only one location. When I move I'll be three hours away. : (
I still haven't decided whether I'll stick with bookstores when I move or try to find jobs with better pay.

Agreed. I gave away my paperback copy a while back and couldn't pass up replacing it in hardcover, especially since it now matches my hardcover copy of the follow-up, Secret Windows.

That is why I prefer e-books. I don't have to mess around with bindings.

I will admit that the thing I like most about e-readers is the comfort of not having to hold open an awkward, heavy, tightly-bound book.
