Started reading a... paranormal romance novel, I guess, by the name of Daemons in the Mist yesterday. I actually picked it up at an anime convention back in May and just never opened it until I, uh, found it while cleaning up. >_>" I'm only 15 pages in, so I can't really form a coherent opinion of the book yet, but I can say that it had me laughing by the end of the second page. Trying really hard not to read it on the job. o_o

Ooh, I was looking at that one in ... bookstore? library? my nook? I can't remember, but I do remember it. Marked Ones series right?
^_^ Let me know if it ends well and I might give it a try.

I actually bought ebooks. @_@; Kobo's offering a chance to win one of their ereaders if you buy books within a certain time period, so I picked up Infinite Jest (been meaning to for a while and it's only $4.99!), the first eight Tarzan novels and the first five John Carter novels.
I almost bought Jane: The Woman Who Loved Tarzan by Robin Maxwell, but... I dunno, I read the preview and it didn't really strike me as well-written. Maybe some other time.

^_^ By the way, Happy Hobbit Day to anyone who cares....
<_< Though I feel this year is tarnished by the Hobbit Movie Peter Jackson is currently creating. Damn. Couldn't he just leave it alone. He already ruined the trilogy. -_-

Happy Hobbit Day to you too, Maxine!
Finally finished Daemons in the Mist last night. Overall I liked it, though it did kind of fray near the end. Definitely made me laugh out loud a few times. Particularly the Twilight reference. X3 Anyway, if you enjoy sappy romance novels, and you don't mind non-endings that make you want to get the second book, then I'd suggest getting Daemons in the Mist.

New books arrived today!
The Name of the Wind: Everyone here who read this book seemed to like it. Here's hoping I don't break that trend.
The Player of Games: There was also some mention of the Culture series, so I went looking through those and found this one. How could I NOT get a book with this name from a series I was looking into? Bonus: It's the second book in the series, just to bug Maxine. =P (Just kidding, Maxine!)
Going Postal: First Terry Pratchett book I read was actually the sequel to this. Looking forward to more Moist von Lipwig.

Oh man! Just finished reading Zom-B by Darren Shan and it was a seriously good read! So gory! So action-packed! And ze plot twist! So shocking! xD I had fun reading it in one sitting.
Also, if Kino ever comes back out of hiding and we start the bookclub up again, we should totally do this for our meetings:
(spoiler'd for potential NSFWness)
Alcohol and Cthulhu tentacles optional, naturally.

Would it be a both-or-neither case, or could I just opt out on the alcohol?
Liking The Name of the Wind so far. I have the sneaking suspicion that I will start disliking Kvothe by the end, though.

I don't remember disliking him in the first book, so I'd say save your dislike for the second one. :3
And you can totally skip the alcohol and keep the tentacles, iffin' it suits yer fancy. We're not picky 'round here.

I'm reading 6 books of Faust and also the Hunger Games. It should be a cool quarter.

I thought there were only 2 Faust books. I... must be thinking of a different series.
