I KNOW AND I WANTS IT
If none of my bookstore's Austin locations has a copy, I might just have to go to BookPeople or something. I feel so... unfaithful when I buy books outside of work. Dx

I am very happy that A Dance with Dragons is better than FfC so far. Anyway I love Game of Thrones rantage, so:

What I like about Strindberg is that he got away with shit like writing a book about how he spent his childhood gathering nuts and bolts, and adding "oh, btw, this book isn't for the smelly plebeians."

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
Seems like this'll be a fun thread to read.
I really like the Kingkiller Chronicles. Been waiting for Rothfuss's next book.
Small Gods is my favorite Terry Pratchett book. I do have 20-30 of his books. I feel as if his recent works are weaker though; Alzheimers/age seems to be affecting him.
Neil Gaiman seems good, but I haven't gotten around to reading more of his books. I quite liked Stardust.
It's been quite a while since I've read much... in the past year, the only new thing I've read was Game of Thrones and Death Gate series. Before that was Patrick Rothfuss and Stephen King (mostly The Dark Tower). I wish I had the time to read tens of thousands of pages again

The Last Templar is either poorly translated to swedish, or just poorly written.

I'm not big into space/scifi, but I love anything Asimov touches. His collections of short stories are my favorite and I bought Foundations and I can't wait to read it.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
I liked Asimov's robot mysteries for the mysteries. The rest of his writing IMO suffers majorly from his characters having the depth of cardboard. The Foundation series I couldn't really get into either. Too dry, and then he tried to connect it to his robot novels and it just became a mess.

Re: Favorite Books and Current Reads
I love love loved Fahrenheit 451. It's on my ever-shifting list of favorites.
I've only read one or two of Asimov's short stories, if that many. I used to have a lot of science fiction anthologies, so I'm really not sure. I intend to try the Foundation series one day.
I am falling in love with Penguin's cover designers, one at a time. Starting with Jon Gray, who was responsible for the design of ! He also did some fantastic covers for other books that I really really really want and will one day own:
and I think I've posted about this one before:
This one is especially clever given the book's . :3
EDIT:
A few days ago a young lady at work asked me what my favorite book was. Uh. What? o_o;;;; I went completely blank. As Mr. Gaiman says, "Picking five favorite books is like picking the five body parts you'd most like not to lose."
