Spent time AWAY from games to spend it on my favorite subject: children's fantasy. In particular, my newly acquired stack of Artemis Fowl books. In all honesty, I was going to start reading from Opal's Deception where I had left off, but after reading through chapter 1 and not having a CLUE anymore as to what was going on... I just put it back in the box, and pulled out the first book and proceeded with starting the series over. Not that big of a deal since the books are small 5-hour reads.

^_^ I forgot how damn GOOD the first book is. *sigh*

<3 I love Artemis Fowl. I really do. Particularly because you just aren't sure which side you really do want to cheer for.

@Zeta: There are currently five books in the series, six if you count the Artemis Fowl files (whatever that is).

@Noodles: I've never heard of it. ^_^ Give me more details.

Lately I have been reading a lot of HG Wells. I only have to read The Sleeper Awakes to have read all his science fiction.

The Island of Doctor Moreau is fantastic.

HG Wells... I applaud the guy and recognize him as a genius, but I dunno if I ever want to get into one of his works. Sci-fi isn't my favorite. I think I mostly appreciate the guy because he understood how to use his pen to control people XD

I'll probably pick him up one day out of sheer curiosity.

We have this book at work, but it's much too expensive. I'm on the reserve list at the library -__-; Although I was told they may never get it...

What I'm currently reading for school:

European Union:
Primary source reader: "The European Union: Readings on the Theory and Practice of European Integration"
Secondary source book: "Ever Closer Union: An Introduction to European Integration"
Monograph: "What Kind of Europe" <--I don't have to read this one until late March

Geography of Europe:
"The EU & Neighbors"

Senior Seminar:
"The Impending Crisis: 1848-1861" <--I must read this entire 500 page book by February 2nd
"Reading Yesterday, Writing for Today" <--I must memorize this book
"A Short Guide to Writing about History" <--must memorize as well
"That Noble Dream: The Objectivity Question and the American Historiography"

Plus I need to read/analyze the sources for my senior thesis paper. I also need to narrow down my topic. I know for sure I want to do something with Women, perhaps early feminism. I'm thinking about doing maybe a comparison of Southern plantation women vs. the upperclass women of the North, and why the differing lifestyles lead to the political activism and feminist demonstrations of the Northeast. Seneca Falls was 1848, so this fits very nicely into the time frame we're supposed to be focusing on (the antebellum period).

Anyway. Back to reading.
