The people I know who are actually well off are not even that spend-thrifty (is that even a word?), but I guess that's why they actually have money. So, yeah, those people definitely don't represent the Americans I know either.

I went to the library today and noticed they had a book sale. There was a box that had some Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese books. Most of the Japanese books seemed kinda bad so I skipped over them. But then I saw two books by 三浦綾子 (MIURA Ayako), and ended up getting a copy of 死の彼方までも. The one I skipped over was 果て遠き丘. I'll probably pick it up sometime this week, though. I mean, it's only 25 cents, why not?

I totally forgot that the new Sarah Monette book came out last week!
I'm debating re-reading the first three books (epic) or maybe just the last book (weak) ... or maybe just the last half of the third book (fail). I want a little bit of a refresher before I plunge into it.
I read like two paragraphs of Mildmay's first narration and immediately remembered why I fucking ADORE these books and why Mildmay is one of the best narrators in the history of first-person.

I'm reading a copy of Stephen Wilson's Information Arts: Intersections of Art, Science, and Technology that I picked up at an Art Museum gift shop a few years ago, but which I somehow haven't gotten around to reading until now.
