Finished my books.
I feel very... melancholy. Heavy.
I get this way sometimes after becoming so involved with a series. It's almost a physical pain to reach the end, to cease having contact with these characters that make my heart ache.
... *sigh*

Further compounding my sadness is that now I want to create something half as eloquent and beautiful, but I feel certain I cannot. I've been tossing story ideas around in my head... *sigh* I wish my old RP partners were still around so I could bounce ideas off them ... maybe write a little with them. It's so much easier to just sketch up two characters and a setting, and then just let the characters take the story where it needed to go.
Anyway.
I was reading a Q&A with Monette in which she stated the early draft of Corambis had a romantic sub-plot, which was quite atrocious and had to be destroyed. I now plan on breaking into her home to read that draft, as I'm quite desperate...

*FLAIL!*
This is terrible news! The Virtu, second book in the Monette series, is out of fucking print! Paperbacks are going for $45 used on Amazon!
*clings to her copy most desperately!* I need a back-up copy! I need a hardcover back-up copy to supplement by paperback reading copy! I NEED A BACK-UP FOR MY BACK-UP!

I'm reading My Immortal, which is perhaps the biggest insult to the English language I've ever read. And Harry Potter. That and The Return of the King.
