Picked up The Artemis Fowl series again.
:3 My sister actually FINALLY asked to read the first book. So, I still have not finished reading Opal Deception and I have Lost Colony in my box set. I was half way through Arctic Incident but I decided to reread it today and I've already passed where my book mark was. I love Sword of Truth series but it's great to go back to something simpler again. XD
Not to mention, I just LOVE Artemis Fowl.
First book end spoilers
I just LOVE that he always acts so evil and tries to act so uncaring but things keep getting thrown in his face and every once in a while a conscious just stirs. The first book's ending with the deal with Holly for his mom was just... beautiful.
Still, I love the first book the best because I just couldn't decide who I wanted to win. Artemis, the evil villain who I love. Or the fairies who are being conned by this brat who just needs a good butt smacking! XD
Nightfall and The Ugly Little Boy are both novelizations together with Robert Silverberg, based on short stories by Asimov. In both cases I think the original was better. The novels add more detail, which is good, but they also extend the stories beyond the originals, which made them kinda meh in my opinion. I haven't read the novelization of The Bicentennial Man (which was later made into a movie), but I imagine that situation is not much different, as the original already captured the most important scenes in the story.
