recently finished "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky (of Rent and Jericho fame).

It's pretty good, actually.
I won't say how, but I can relate to the protag.

Started reading this book last night:

Mr Kino calls these my "men standing behind each other" books, because for some reason every damn cover has the two dudes in this or a similar position.

It's really not good so far. I have a fine line between enjoying a m/m romance and being turned off by a "m/m romance genre" piece. It reads like a romance novel, but with [hide]twice as much cock[/hide], and that's not at all my style. It's too entirely focused on the romance when I'd rather it emphasize the plot and characters. Also it's much too sexualized for my references. I really don't need the opening scene to be in a Regency gay sex club and then jump immediately into the protagonist info-dumping how he first realized he liked boys better than girls. The actual sentence -level writing -- what Mr Kino refers to as "line by line" -- isn't shabby, but the construction of the story leaves much to be desired.

Of course this is an awfully tough criticism considering I'm not even finished with the first chapter. I read another book in this "series" by Erastes called False Colors which was like AU CS Forrester slash fic.

Currently reading: Inkspell

After finally justifying the $10 cost of the paperback edition, I bought the sequel (because my library sucks and doesn't have it).

I dunno why these books connect with me the way that they do. There's just a charm and I just LOVE the premise and how the author talks about books.

Dustfinger and Meggie are definitely in my top thirty list of favorite characters.

I envy people who can read faster than about a book per month (ie. everyone but me)
