Finished Out of the Ashes. It was, uh, interesting. I'm not sure I liked where the story went, and the ending felt incomplete and rushed. Maybe she's working on a third book? It seems like we were left with unresolved issues.

Moved on to Frost Fair and finished that as well. It was just little 150-page thing. Kind of awful. Not as bad as the God in Flight (I. will. murder. that. book!) but just... meh. Historical, which I always think I'll like more than I do, and with barely any plot. And one of those awful 3rd-act "betrayals" that I hate so much. It's just cheap.

So starting the God Eaters next. It's supposed to be a pseudo-western fantasy, so... we'll see. At least it's got some decent length to it; hopefully that means a nice plot, world-building, and character development.

So, The Inferno. Just finished the fifteenth canto, which I have affectionately named "Chilling With the Sodomites."

Umm...Just finished reading Mogworld by Benjamin Croshaw (Yahtzee). Quite entertaining, especially if you enjoy that particular brand of deadpan british humor he is so famous for in his game review show, Zero Punctuation.

The story itself is fairly interesting, although I feel that he could have expanded on a lot of points in his story and simply did not. I am not wholly satisfied with the ending because I kind of feel that it is weaker than it could have been. Overall though, its about a conscious undead trying to return to being dead, and its hard to really go wrong there.

Discworld Series - Currently on Going Postal (though I'm skipping around a bit). A parody of Fantasy early on, it's now a humorous take on modern topics, wordplays, or just how crazy life is. Partway through it.

Snow Crash - Hiro Protagonist both a master swordsman and hacker, must work to stop a mysterious computer virus that attacks the brain. Along with sheer absurdness, it also has a...interesting take on the Tower of Babel myth (and by that, I mean a huge amount of the story dedicated to explaining it). Halfway through it.

First Lord's Fury - Last book of the Codex Alera series, by the same author who created The Dresden files. I've got nothing to say honestly about this high fantasy series, I forgot to finish this, and now I have to reread it all over again. Well, it is pretty interesting to see the only normal person (who's oddly, special because of it) plan inventive ways to overcome his opponents.

And thanks Grey, I had that book on the shelf, and forgot about it entirely, I should get that right now.
When you're alone, always remember:

The Chronicles books are (or at least were back then) generally considered to be the best books in the series. From memory, my personal favourite was The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, even though the cover art is really weird. Though in saying that, I haven't read the Ellimist Chronicles (which is supposed to be incredibly good), Visser or about 1/4 of the main books.

Also given that people here have actually read it (didn't expect that) I have been wondering about something.

(Major spoilers for the end of The Andalite Chronicles)
How exactly did Visser 3 escape from the Jahar? When he was returned by the Time Matrix he had only seconds of air left and he would have started suffocating and dying from decompression almost immediately. The only thing I can think of is that maybe he somehow propelled himself off the ship, towards one of those living meteor things, acquired it and morphed it before he died. That doesn't seem very likely though, but I doubt the Ellimist would have saved the Visser like he did Chapman and if Alloran had had any morphs that could survive in deep space, the Visser would have just used them instead of working together with Elfangor.
Don't Die.
