Bert and Ernie, incidentally, are actual roommates! Bert's gay and Ernie's straight, but they live together and have a dog (ie, their child) and it's pretty much the perfect meta-costume, really.

Oh, I don't know if you can tell -- my husband's dressed as a priest, and I'm a catholic schoolgirl.

It's an actual priest outfit, not a costume -- he got it at a christian supply center ages and ages ago when he did youth ministry. He's ordained and everything.
