This weekend we ran the playtest of the grand strategy game we've been designing since July. This is me running our map table.

To everyone regarding dem shades: yes, it's Ninten from the futureeeeeee. Actually, Noodles, there was a time where you could take those home with you and if you were to go to see another movie, like a few months later, you wouldn't have to pay the extra for the glasses.

Another look at it


Me trying to respond to fleet movement orders. Orders are submitted secretly, on paper, and resolve simultaneously so that plays can't kite each others fleets, but trying to sort all the map orders while answering questions (playtest=Brand new players) was tough.

A closer look at the map. The game takes place in space, so some of those explored hexes are empty space, and others have solar systems in them which players can colonize/build in. The colored push pins represent areas that have been colonized by particular factions, the colored squares on the hexes are fleets.
