..... negzee :3 let me lead you to a site that you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE:

:\ I could never understand how people screwed up "peanut butterflies". ^_^ I never had trouble deciphering that line. The sub I watched said "peanuts for the flies" and I was like "wtf?"
But, I'm shocked by how FEW people seem to know this. It's what you call it when you have captured butterflies in a jar. The things you feed them include "peanuts" and cornflakes. It's what we did when me and my sisters were kids. ^_^ Stick the peanuts in there and VOILA you now call them "Peanut Butterflies!" I DON'T think that's what they eat, though, as the next day they would be dead in the jar. :\
My parents called it this as did all of our cousins and no neighbors ever questioned the practice. ^_^; I remember one of my friends actually tried peanut butter and bread once. But, I do remember being VERY VERY young, like 5 or so, when playing these games.
I can't say much for my youngest sister Clarissa. She didn't catch butterflies or lightbugs. o_O She caught BEES! And NEVER got stung. She would have her bug catcher FILLED with them! I don't think she was much interested in feeding them, though, but I do remember some grass being tossed in.
:\ But, maybe the song isn't refering to this and it's just a strange memory. Either way, though... I guessed it right the first time.

^_^; I had my younger sister Christina, who is only two years younger than me with whom I could play with. We weren't allowed out of our backyard most of the time. But, that was fine. It was a small backyard but I remember having SO much fun in it.
((What the fuck... I rambled... sorry... I think this cold medicine has made me very light headed and not thinking clearly))
We caught butterflies, lightbugs, made "grass salad", had my red-rider wagon, tons of stuffies, and in the summer we had our pool set up. Plus we had a clothes line... the poles of which both were set in concrete (of course) - but one of them had a hole, a fairly large on in it. And one day we chased a HUGE (well, it was huge to us) toad into this hole - and we couldn't get it to come back out. -_-; I guess it never occurred to us that this toad could have possibly died but I remember quite a few weeks spent with one of us continuously on guard, waiting for this poor toad to come out. And I think we stuck every thing from our fingers to blades of grass and even pens down there. We finally gave up when one of us accidentally dropped a marble down in it (what was the marble suppose to do? I can't even fathom).
And this was just in South Carolina. We then moved to Virginia... and we had honeysuckle and blackberries growing down in a back street of the apartment complex - WAY far way from where we were SUPPOSE to be. XD Aww, how many times did we get in trouble? And how many pairs of clothes did we ruin. Too many.
So, you name it, and I've probably done it. But, then, I got asthma and then started getting teased and harassed at school and well... life takes these dramatic little turns occasionally.
Meh, but even then, I still had quite a bit of fun. I've even been on a cow farm, too. O_O That is a smell you do NOT soon forget. *twitch* But ironically you get very use to it. I would leave after staying the night with our friends there and it would be like "I don't even smell anything now."
