Ahem. Sorry. But, yeah, I'll never get Mr Kino to go camping. He's terrified of ticks (Lyme disease) and in general is a big prissy wimp when it comes to the outdoors. Versus me, who was a girl scout and a boy scout, backpacked across the Ozarks, and grew up running around in the forest like a crazy person.

As for enjoying my new home; yes, this is true. It's very nice here. I'm not so in love with it that I'd want to stay here forever, and I can't say it's really Virginia that entrances me so much as it is the Hampton Roads area itself.

It's been a long time since we went camping. Which has always been a thing of setting up at a campsite in the most secluded spot we can find and just having fun without gizmos and gadgets and just enjoying each other's company. I LOVE camp fires.

Specifically, though... I love sleeping in a tent. I love the sounds of the night (even the scary ones and we've had some scary sounds o_O ) and... there's just something to be said about waking up in the morning. There's just a... serenity to it.

:3 Also I LOVE camping when it's raining and I'm in the tent. <_< No one else does, but... one of my favorite times was when it was storming out real bad and I opened the tent flap and stared out and watched it rained. I got yelled at since, obviously, my bedding got pretty wet, but... it was worth it.


... No, I've never been actual "wilderness" camping. Just some local campsite affair. We'd stay out for 3 or more days. Take our bikes and some skates. Mostly just enjoyed each other's company.

I used to go up to the Sierra Nevada mountains every year. I've posted a landscape picture or two in here somewhere.

Then I did summer school for a couple of years, and now my dad can't climb anymore

:3 Ooooh, there's something about that image I find VERY tasteful. ^_^ I LOVE villains when they are have the hero within their grasp and are beating them up or making their lives hell.

One of my favorite scenes in gaming history STILL remains the scene in Zelda: Twilight Princess where Zant has Midna and is 'talking' to her and then hurts her.

:O Why couldn't a scene like this been in Persona4?! ^_^ It's so beautiful.
