Re: Hurricane
I "LOL" because I'm used to THIS:
(not an image, but a video:)

And every spring having watches and warnings pop up in ranges of severity. This last season I actually had to get underground because circulation passed right over my town (but no funnel formation, just the circulation for one; the funnel touched down west of here then went back up just outside town).
I'm amused by this slowly approaching "danger" although I can see how multiple false alarms and laziness mean people don't evacuate when they should. In Oklahoma, we generally got underground or in our safe places when necessary (except you always have the fools who don't pay attention or decide to go stormchase) but then again we were dealing with rapidly forming, rapidly moving storm systems.
So it is a pleasure that this is my natural disaster. How quaint.

LOL, Kino. :3 ok. Just worried that you were like freaking out. There's danger no matter what location you are in. However, in my current state (PA)... there's not much alarm from anything. I think Earl is the first time since living hear that I even HEARD the WORD "hurricane".
Tornado warnings occasionally but not enough to actually be like HOLY CRAP. Might be the area I'm in as well.
I do recall a funny situation in which our local news station had a talkback session and one of the people were yelling at them that they need to stop with all the damn warnings and freaking people out. The station was like "A warning is still a very serious situation that we do want people to take seriously, and while there is warning, we will be reporting it."
The people here are very very complacent.

It's like I understand that pokemon is for children but PUT IN A FUCKING STORYLINE with a decent if not totally awesome bad guy character. We've got all these fabulous monster-like creatures (some worse than others) but nothing really good to throw them at. I mean, even the gym leaders are just one-time characters with a total of two messages - the one you get before the fight and the one immediately after the fight.
The rest of the time, you're just fighting random people you don't give a shit about. They could up the ante on them, too.
