I've wondered that for a very long time. Maybe they like pretending that the box is a race car or a space ship or a hot air balloon... you know, like children do sometimes? I remember doing that as a child... and then seeing an awesome Rugrats episode about it later on.

Thing is, not a single person I've mentioned or shown the plates to knows the reference. And if they don't know that, then they probably don't know Pedobear, either. Or perhaps it's just because the people I hang around with here just aren't Internet culture people. I dunno.
