This was my first real forum, I joined when I was just turning 15, I think. I was an idiot. I still am, but I was then too. Even more of one, really. My old posts are mostly awful things I pretend don't exist.

The very first forum I ever joined just shut down a few days ago. We knew it was going down a few weeks in advance, but it was still sad to see the page go down. Luckily for me, this is my favorite forum and we seem to be doing just fine.
(Also, my first posts here are really awful too, so please don't look at them.)

The other one I frequent shut down but most members migrated to a different board for a different thing. I'm a lot less active there now, though.

I've been jumping from forum to forum for years.
By the way, if no one sees me for a month (and I'm not talking about in the immediate future), please send my a PM or something. Because otherwise I probably won't be back for like half a year.

My first forum is also probably going to shut down some time in the future. It kinda sucks cuz it used to be so active and now it's pretty dead. Most of us added each other on Facebook/Steam, but it still kinda sucks. I'm also not too active around here. I don't like, hate you guys or anything, I just don't usually feel like posting.

Hah, the first forum I ever join was the Lego Message Boards, but that was a LONG time ago, like back when I lived in Texas and had only one computer long time ago. I always wrote meaningless gabble about whatever was floating through the warped mind of the inexperienced young man that was I. Luckily(?), on those forums your posts had to be reviewed before they could be posted, so very few of my wise words of infinite wisdom were ever seen. The weirdest one I got away with posting, I believe, was most likely the time I wrote these fine words: "u get bob i get hob". Indeed, truly admirable words.
Also, on the note of other forums I go on, I used to go on quite a few, but usually just left without any parting words, usually to come back a year later, do two posts, then leave again. The longest forum I've been on is actually one for this really obscure game that doesn't even work anymore and only two people go on the forums there now. My main forum is probably this one though. What can I say, everyone here's just so freindly an' stuff.

The first forum I went on and am still a member of is a Zelda forum, my very bad early posts from when I was like 12 or 13 have disappeared due to it being hosted on a different forum software that they migrated away from. However, there's still thousands of posts from over the years. It's weird as you can really see opinions changing, grasp on the English language maturing and priorities change over the years. It's good but also bad as what a lot of people got up to when they were in their early teens no longer exists, but for us early adopters of the internet, it's all there...

My gods, my early posts... back then, though, I think similar to Archaic, back then, no one was really sure what to do on forums. Codes of basic conduct weren't exactly established and most of the time the conversations were all haphazard and all over the place. My first real forum experience was like '98 or so. I hosted a scramble word game on there that a lot of people enjoyed and it was seriously a lot of fun. XD I broke the forum software and the admin yelled at me to watch the posting cap and to start a new thread after so many posts.
And then I took a coding class and the admin got pissed off at me that my site I had created looked too similar in his opinion to his. It was bullshit and the guy had a god-like attitude. One of those I AM WEBMASTER HEAR ME ROAR sorts. He banned me. I've always used him as an example of how I NEVER want to act.
I will also confess that I am a terrible forum poster. I double post frequently and enjoy off topicness as I think that's the best way to have a conversation. As long as it ties into the original conversation who the fuck cares? Not everyone appreciates that, though, it seems. I also hate super huge forums. I like small communities.
I've had forums in the past for my Zelda sites and they never did so good. ^_^ I'm glad that this one seems to have not only taken off so well but after this many years is STILL going very strong in my opinion. Not too small, not too large, and not so inactive as to be embarrassing but not so active that I lose track of what we've been talking about.
You guys have done that. I take no responsibility. Everyone here is the reason this place is so awesome.

Let me tell you about waaaaay back when (I feel like a granny in a rocking chair or something).
Actually, originally there was a legit excuse to avoid double posting. Ever have one of those people that text you on your cellphone? They send
hi
how r u
i'm good
dinner tonight
making spaghetti
pick up tomato sauce
and noodles?
don't forget garlic bread
^ one of those people where it's 25+ texts in 2 seconds that it's like... WHY DID YOU JUST NOT PUT THIS IN ONE TEXT?!!
That's how forums use to be. So they created a rule: NO DOUBLE POSTING to force these idiots to put their 10+ posts of five word sentences into one big post.

Which is thanks to the rules against double posting.
