I actually highly doubt that....if you back that far, the amount of time it took to load forum pages on dialup would make any person inclined to fit as much as they could into a post before hitting the submit button.

^_^ Aww, the good ole days, eh Starfe?
When you are familiar with pages taking that long to load you don't even notice the load time. Just think, in ten years people will probably be referencing our current load times with the same astonishment. "MY GOD IT TOOK .23 SECONDS TO LOAD A PAGE?!"
And that was just from when I met Starfe. My first forum experience had to be back in '97 or '98. I know it predated Ocarina of Time. In '98 was roughly when I found the one forums that I hosted my game the Zelda Scrambler. I remember hosting it even though I did not have OoT yet which I think I got in '99?? Or something... damn, the years are all kinda meshed together at this point.
Still, I do not recall the load times back then as being anything so detrimental.

i thought 32.6k dialup was fine at the time but now if a page takes more than a second to load i am a snarling infant of rage

The only thing I remember being slow and OMG-indusive was downloading my midis. Or when a webpage would put a midi on that was really long. It made the designer in me scream WHY - and this was even before I learned HTML. That and image-intensive OFFICIAL websites. I always enjoyed fansites more because they respected load times, but official sites - especially early day official Zelda websites - were unkind.

Now that I've enough energy to study intensively, I can't wait to crush some people in my major, who tend to cheat at exams and never get punished, the legit way.

I signed up for Plenty of Fish at my room mate's insistence. Mein Gott, what has my life become?
