My school taught me all about contractions, and also taught us that they are great in informal conversation, but you should never use them in formal papers.

Is it wrong that I watched that youtube video and loved every single second of it.

God, Starfe, I would have loved to have had you as my teacher <3 You just made my day with everything you said and that simple little video.

I do disagree with the context - context clues isn't just about a sentence or even a paragraph. If they took into consideration the STORY to have Juliet asking "where" is Romeo is stupid. I dunno, it made such simple obvious sense to me that she was asking "WHY" are you Romeo. Though in all honesty I think Shakespeare fucked up in the first place and it's no wonder people have trouble reading his stuff. I've always thought it would have made more sense for Juliet to ask

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Montague?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

... But I guess Shakespeare was too worried about his iambus bullshit to be sure his sentences/stories made any sense. At least he could have been consistent:

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I'll no longer be a Juliet."

he used romeo because he's a poet and it sounds better to say romeo again

but it makes perfect sense to me considering the next line tells him to refuse his name (romeo) as well as his father (montague)

Ooh, that's a good way to interpret the line. I always read it as "refuse his name (montague) and deny they father (cut off all family contact)"
