Re: ITT We Help Starfe Do His Job
Free public transportation starting from today to Sunday in my region, because of high levels of pollution in Paris and cities nearby. The last time I witnessed so much pollution was 3 years ago.

Re: ITT We Help Starfe Do His Job
Its usually the "little" things that remind me that The United States is so much less progressive than many other countries. We spend a lot of time arguing about health care and prisons and income inequality, but typically ignore stuff like transit, environmental protections, and work schedules.

I'm trying to figure out my finances for art college next year. Everything should work out, especially since I never let myself dip into my savings I have for school even when I was poor af. Thanks, past-Zam!

Re: ITT We Help Starfe Do His Job
That feeling when nobody has posted in the general discussion thread for a week...
In other news, I've been here for 4 years now. I find this very surprising.

Re: ITT We Help Starfe Do His Job
Got my hair cut today (nothing new, just long overdue), and decided to do some shopping while I was downtown.
The one shop here that stocked Twinings green tea with mint stopped doing so. I liked Twinings because it was milder than most. Now I'll have to drink other brands :/
I got me a nice load of other teas today though. Silver rose oolong, Kopili (Assam, black), Japanese cherry (green), sencha, Earl Grey (Chinese black), and jasmine (Chinese green). All loose-leaf except the sencha.
And I got a stack of ramen packets this tall (50cm or so, I'd guess). I avoid the Thai and most Korean ones because they're nearly always super spicy hot. The Indonesian and Japanese ones are safe. Some of the Indonesian ones you can find in supermarkets, but only some flavors. The toko I go to doesn't stock the brand that had miso flavor anymore. A bit of an acquired taste, but I liked it.
Oh, and garlic paste for improved pizza. Fresh garlic is too big to be useful for my single person household.
And new coin album pages (5×4 pockets on A4). I use those to keep my DS/3DS/Vita cartridges organized. I asked, but they didn't have any with six (3×2) pockets. That would've been the right size for the PSP UMDs. GBA carts are a little too thick to put in this kind of holder. I should get an actual album too someday to put them in. I'm not sure a regular A4 binder is the right size.

Re: ITT We Help Starfe Do His Job
Oh wife, why don't you think things through?
She decided on her day off to go and buy a load of timber decking and chopped it up to size for our metal balcony... then just placed the pieces of wood down on the metal without securing it and said it'd be OK.... so not OK.
So now my weekend will not be filled with movies, it'll be filled with spending more money on wood, to build a frame, to screw the planks of wood into to ensure it's secure.
Those poor trees
