I just came home from my second HARDCORE LAST MINUTE SCHOOL APPLICATION! So now I'm just sitting here, waiting for my legs to get all stiff from the INTENSE BIKING I did to get to the mailbox by the store. Hopefully I get accepted into at least one of the schools, or at least get to go on an interview. Though mostly the first one.

Friday! Yay! I only had a three day week this week as Monday was a bank holiday in England and I booked Tuesday off. That has not stopped it from feeling likr the longest week ever though.

I don't think I mentioned it here, but I work at Walmart now. The job is super easy, but the corporate structure and strict rules showed by the orientation videos is totally different from the actual structure (or lack thereof) in the store I've been at the last few days. It's kind of awful, no one knows any of the safety procedures, they threw me on the register with no training, and on Friday I didn't see a manager or supervisor the entire day. I could have clocked in and gone home and gotten paid for 8 hours. Glad to be switching stores. I hope they actually can show me how to do things in the next one, and give me actual tasks so it doesn't feel like every minute is a year.

That's retail for you.

My philosophy in life is everyone needs to work at least a year of retail. Especially if you are working at one of the larger chains, where things can become more chaotic and laissez faire. Generally the atmosphere from fellow staff is a lack of general concern or genuine interest. There are a lot of things that should be done in theory, but never happen in practice. Emotions will run high, customers will be upset, planograms will be disobeyed.

It's a great experience. More than it will shape you as an employee, it will help shape you as a customer.

No more Atlus? Aw.. I hope this Walmart thing works out better for you.

My day was pretty good so far. Got to sleep most of it but now that I think about it I really should have been working on homework so I don't fail my finals...

My retail experience has been super small scale, which means there are really specific expectations and tasks. There's only so much straightening and cleaning you can do before there's nothing left for the rest of the shift, though. On the bright side, you get really close with the rest of the staff.

You'll become desensitized to retail time soon enough, I promise

It has been a longer process than expected, but at last I have been accepted to undertake disability studies starting this fall. Fifth time going back to school... hope this career works out well!

My day was pretty boring today. Had a meeting for my education help, and my finals start tomorrow. I feel ready for the ones that go on tomorrow.

My day today started off pretty bad. i woke up at 4:30 because i thought i heard the fire alarm go off, and boy was i mad when i couldn't sleep afterwards. luckily today was a pretty short day at school, so went home, and am currently relaxing, but it's way too goddamn hot to actually relax. i bass guitar practice in a few hours though, so that's always a nice thing.^^ all in all... kinda averagely good day so far.

Exchanged some texts with scy earlier today. I can confirm that he lives!
