Today has been an interesting day. Mainly because I'm 2 weeks into summer, and I just now recieved the letter saying that I was inducted into my schools National Junior Honor Society. The ceremony was in May. I kinda knew that already.
Anyway I haven't been able to move from my bed for 2 hours because I woke up from a nap with my 6 month old English Bull Mastiff that decided to take a snooze on my stomach. I can't move. I am being squished by a puppy.

A puppy is the best possible thing by which one could ever hope to get squished.

I had a halfway decent day today. I bought a game on steam today.

ZOMG, just get offered a job at another company for a big step up. I've been with my current company for 8 years and it's in the town I live in, this new role is 30-45 minute drive each way away... massive change and a huge load of new responsibilities. Nervous but excited and erm, yeah

.
Gotta to wait for it to be confirmed in writing to me, then I need to work my notice (notice periods have to be worked in the UK - you can't just "quit" you have to legally fulfil your contract otherwise you can be sued...).

Hope all goes well, my sagely friend. ^~^
Not sure about other developed countries, but here, law states three week notice of resignation unless the employer has stated otherwise. Only natural that people in higher positions will require more notice as per contract. Of course, a lot of employers themselves outside of the corporate or government sectors can't be bothered.

Happy Canada Day.
Here are some cold howling winds during the middle of the day in July. Just like 80% of the year.

This time of year in Oakland genuinely scares me because I have problems with fireworks that sound like gunshots. I know they are most likely fireworks but I worry that some of the very loud bangs coming from a block away could be something a bit more along the lines of "someone just got murdered."

Holy crap, it's hot. It's making me feel crappy, but I'm not willing to have a paycheck with only 4:15 at almost $8 an hour, so I'm gonna push through... I hope I'll make it to the end of my shift, though... XD
Speaking of fireworks, my brother just randomly got this bag of fireworks from someone at his work. I just hope the loud ones aren't used near the house or something.

Apparently mixing hot chocolate powder with coffee is a "stoner" thing. A bunch of people were laughing at me over it at a gathering function. Am I missing a reference to a film or something?
It seems to be my fate that people will think I am a stoner. I can't help it.
