can I use a ps3 controller to play on steam? :\

as long as works on a computer, you can use it on steam (in games that have settings for controllers). However, with a ps3 controller, it isn't "native" to a PC (in the way an xbox controller or store-bought gamepad is) which means it doesn't have official drivers and won't start working automatically just from plugging it in. You'll have to install special drivers and a separate program running at the same time (i use motioninjoy)

I see. Cuz I once tried an xbox360 controller to play L4D and it never worked. Hrrrm...

as long as your computer is recognizing the 360 controller, and as long as l4d has a controller mode in the settings, that should have worked

my computer recognized it. Hell even l4d seemed to be trying to make it work, but nothing worked. I tried everything with that stupid controller
