sorry for the sudden change in tone but
AAAHH
ok ok ok
so there's this local magazine that is starting up in my city (Garden Grove, in Orange County) and...well
It's an arts and culture magazine, mostly for writing.
I sent in some stuff I'd written, and they want me for the fiction section in the first issue! *EEEEEEEEE*
I mean, I know it's small time (though I live in a decent sized city), it's not like I'm writing for the LA Times or something, but this is getting my foot in the door of a much grander world. The magazine is totally free so I'm not getting paid, but this is so worth it :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I sent them that dark story I posted on here a while back, and they want something upbeat for the first issue, so I'm probably gonna have to write something new (first issue hopefully comes out March 15, and it's biweekly), likely with critique from my writing teacher. Oh man, this is good shit. Oh jeez. Sorry, it just feels good to have something like this happening in my life. Like a definite sign that I'm moving forward.

I'm back home after seeing my father's flight off to a land far, far away. I cried. .-. I've never cried to see him or anyone else leave for a trip before... Well, I guess part of the reason is I used to be so desensitized by the world around me that I didn't really care until a few years ago where I started to restore myself.
Life story aside, with my father gone my mother won't have anyone for Valentine's Day. I took this into consideration! On their wedding several decades ago, my father gave my mother a music box. It plays a beautiful melody but it broke. Well, I (secretly) studied about them and fixed it, then I (also secretly) learned how to play the melody on the ocarina. I plan to be my mother's Valentine and bring back some sweet memories. :) I'm also custom making some giant heart cookies and stuff for my family and friends. Depending on how fine I can get the icing, I hope to write something special on each. <3

You're so sweet, Elys!! Your mother is lucky ^_^
For Valentine's Day, I have to work from 10am to midnight. YAY.
But Sunday me and the Boy are eating out (we haven't gone to a "sit down" meal together in over 5 months, due to being poor ass broke) and either doing mini-golf or a movie.
I wanted to see the Mozart opera, but the Boy hates anything cultural or educational. Le sigh.

Elysienne, you have to make that happen. That is so awesome ;~; I would cry if I was there ;O;
So I had a bad headache, and drank a small cup of coffee because caffeine supposedly stifles headaches (evens out the blood flow or something, I don't quite know the science of it), and because there was nothing else caffeinated in the house I was in, because I'm not a coffee fan. Note that I put a mint and a lump of brown sugar in it. So now that I'm home and it's very late, I'd like to get to sleep before the headache comes back.
Do you see the problem with that?
