I just don't see it. Maybe I'm just thinking of it wrong. Just find it a dumb double standard to be all "PORN IS BAD RAR" and then "HENTAI GOOD." That strikes me as weird. For all intents and purposes, they're the same thing. They have the same goal and do it through the same means, albeit through different media (sometimes). I don't see how using real people versus drawn people are different in whether or not one is good and one is bad.

Then again, I don't agree with the whole "GAME VIOLENCE IS LIKE REAL LIFE VIOLENCE" so maybe it's just the aspect of sex here that changes it.

I never said hentai is good. I don't like either one. But there is a stark difference between real sex and a picture of sex, and it's one that really can't be overstated. If someone's getting sexual gratification from a fictional character who is not portrayed by a real person, that is wholly different from getting sexual gratification from a real person.

I suppose it does change things up a bit when voice actors are involved, because they are real people, but it is still not wholly the same thing. Not only do fictional characters lack real personal histories, but so do drawings.

Come to think of it, I'm not a fan of Grand Theft Auto or Manhunt either. But I fail to see why sex should really change the issue.
