Define momentary freezing. It could be a virus or the drive is failing.

What brand of Hard Drive? See if you can find any of their diagnostic tools to run tests; if it's a failing drive, it probably won't pass anything.

It didn't come up with any viruses. I ran a bunch of hard drive tools and stuff and I'm not getting the freeze-up when I try to start stuff anymore. I don't really know what fixed it. D: Anyways, the hard drive is a... ST3120023A?

I'm going to go kill myself now for recognizing the drive based off that :( Seagate Barracuda 120GB drive. Hm, if it isn't failing the tests (notably POST) then the drive is probably functional. That drive isn't one of their more problematic ones (the 500GB and beyond Barracudas are) so ... hm.
