Went for my eye re-examination today. So like, they put stuff in my eyes. I couldn't leave the building without sunglasses. Everything is so like, blurry and light is painful. I'll be getting some glasses soon.

I've been sitting here trying to figure it out. Surely, there must be something behind it. Maybe it's a moment? I don't even know ...

As far as I know, it has always been that since the title is pretty much literally Spice and Wolf (Wolf and Spice?). The closest thing I can think of is that the official site and the tagline for the novel is "spicy wolf" but ... fuck that's kind of stretching it.

So like we leave the house and it starts to rain REALLY HARD. It's funny how it always rains when I'm unable to water the plants. ALWAYS. Anyways my glasses were ready so we figured might as well pick them up. I RUN into the building since it's just pouring out there and like my outfit really wasn't ideal for getting wet. I go in, get the glasses, put them on and come out and... the clouds parted and the rain let up by then. Then my mother gets out of the van and she slowly walks towards me saying things like "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD" and she grabs my hand and starts crying. She really liked them that much. .-. I'm not kidding.

ANYWAYS then we went random shopping and stuff. :D We can drive the short way there, but we always like to go the long way around the pond. THE DUCKS TOOK THEIR BABIES FOR A SWIM I LOVE TO SEE THAT. The grocery mart was reorganized... again. I had to like find everything again. Always fun. :P Unfortunately they're sold out of Nong Shim snack. :'[ IT WAS HARDCORE LIKE WE KEPT ADDING STUFF TO OUR BASKET SO I HAD TO GRAB ANOTHER BECAUSE WE'RE LIKE HEY THIS LOOKS GOOD LET'S GET THEM GIGGLE GIGGLE. Of course the best stop is always Dollarama. I almost passed the cashiers wearing a novelty hat. I put it on as a joke and forgot it was sitting on my head. ^-^;

THEN WE DROVE TO THE TOP OF WEST VIEW HILL IT'S SO GREAT. Tall grass, plum trees, gophers (coming out of their holes, running about!), a great view and children rolling around having a good time. Always a treat to be there. I lurv it. ^-^

Yes, I know it's "and" and what the title is. You know, the entire time with Allison to Lillia, I thought it was a point of contention since the romanized title isn't Allison and Lillia but Allison & Lillia. Yes, I'm being serious with that >> I prefer leaving it as Allison to Lillia since that's what I'm used to anyway.

...anyway, no, I agree that it's just a dumb thing to say. Anything I can do to make it make anything remotely close to sense requires so much long drawn out stuff that it becomes quite a joke. Or just some ludicrous thought process. Maybe I'm just missing something. I'm betting on drugs.

And now I go back to trying to figure out this stupid Liar Game trick T.T
[spoiler]17 cards: 4 Jacks, Queens, Kings, Aces and one Joker. Hands (two players) are dealt and one person knows where the Joker is and forces it into his hand. You, the player without the Joker, now know where the position of a four-of-a-kind is (and by how the last two hands go, manipulated the position in the deck since he gets it on the final play earlier than the other two hands) to pull a win out of nowhere.

I've done all that I can to figure out the structure of the deck (after shuffling, cutting, etc.) based off the hands shown:

Dealing starts with you and then him (one card at a time obviously) which gives the following:

Your Hand (Assumed from my reverse engineering~~): K K A A J
His Hand (Shown in the chapter): K Joker A A J
His Hand (Shown, he discards two cards first): Joker A A J J
Your Hand (After 5 card Discard, shown): Q Q Q Q K

But I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how it was possible to force this set-up with no contact with a freshly riffle shuffled deck. I know the deck STARTS as follows (well, a few chapters before it states that this is "most likely" how it is organized):

Only thing I can think of is we're assuming an "ideal" riffle shuffle so the deck is split into a 9-8 split and after four shuffles each card is matched up ... but a shuffle after that should screw it up. Hrm...

Edit: Nevermind, it gets set into Jo 4K 4Q 4J 4A after two perfect riffles then it just repeats assuming a perfect riffle (Jo KJKJKJKJQAQAQA) PLUS the Joker never moves until the cutting ... that ... confuses me.

Edit: Durdurdur, I fucked up my early work and fixed it. Plus, a 17 card deck is merely a "16 card deck + 1 on top" as far as the shuffle is concerned. That is, the odd card (the +1) _never moves_ during the riffle. You merely shuffle cards 2-17 and card "1" is placed on top of the stack.

Once that is known, the "base" becomes Joker KKKK QQQQ JJJJ AAAA after 2 shuffles and then Joker AAAA JJJJ QQQQ KKKK after 6 total shuffles. Can manipulate that based off the cuts done pretty easily. It does NOT repeat the KJKJKJKJQAQAQAQA that I thought it did. What I get for trying a shuffle in my head as it OBVIOUSLY changes (KJKJKJKJ QAQAQAQA -> QKAJQKAJQKAJQKAJ).
