It's gross. That one flash was the only time I have voluntarily drank alcohol. Any other time is wine at some stupid occasion which I am usually able to pass.

^_^ I like the taste, depending on the booze. I found that I typically like my drinks to be a little bit on the fruity side, but I'm still dabbling and taste testing. For example, I enjoy rum of all sorts (rum and cola being my favorite) and is my alcohol of choice.
The one time I got drunk, the guys ordered me shots of tequila which I took with a dash of lime and salt - and I think they said that it was "watered down" or something. "Tequila on training wheels" is how they explained it to me. My sister hated it and while the initial shock of it was 'wow different' I enjoyed it (but I wonder how wasted I was at this point).
I don't think I'm particularly interested in beer, but I think if it was offered, I could drink it without too many qualms. Which is really all my interest in drinking extends to. I don't think in my future house you would ever find any booze, but I wanted to just know enough about drinks and have a favorite so that way if friends or co-workers or whatever invited me out for drinks or whatever, I would be prepared. I had a teacher tell us once that he ordered just ice water when others were drinking and I kinda felt "wow, that's rude. that's... so anti-social of you." So, I just want to know that if ever offered a drink by someone, I could take it politely and be part of the group.

Maxine, our little conformist.

^_^; I dunno. It just seemed to me that if you are trying to be part of a group, then you do have to conform a little. You can't have it both ways. If you're going to sit down to be with a group of friends, don't isolate yourself. It's like saying "I'm here, but I don't really give a shit about you guys."

conformist? Please. I'm so backwards that if there's anything I can ever do to make myself be part of the group I snag it up quickly and try to participate as best as I can. -_-;
<_<; I was mad drunk and I STILL had a problem associating with the guys that were hanging around us. I just couldn't open up and talk freely. I really need to work on the group thing. The most I"ve been a part of a group is being at a full high school lunch table but my two favorite friends and myself were still discussing stories, wrapped in our own little worlds, heedless of what the others were chatting about ^_^;

2010 has been a year of self-discovery. I hope it stays that way.

I don't think you would be any more or less part of a group if you had the same drink as the others. It's just not important that way.

It was my journalism teacher that told us this and the rest of the class was in agreement with my opinion - that he should have ordered a drink. He was telling a story unrelated to drinking and everyone stopped him at that part to point it out. <_<; The idea is hammered in and it can't really hurt, either.

Hmm, but you can order a non-alcoholic drink, can't you? I've never received weird looks for that.

^_^ I guess. I dunno. Just when he said he ordered ice water everyone was like "what the hell..." and he was like "I don't drink"

I don't see the problem with ordering something different or not ordering at all. And I have one friend who refuses to drink and none of us at group outings have any problem with his non-alcoholic drinks. But then, he doesn't order just water or juice, but those "mocktail" things, which I find amusing.
Like Kimiko said, that's not really the important part.

I planned on letting Negzee take my alcohol virginity, but he would probably move too fast and get me very drunk
