[spoiler]I do think everyone's treating Zeta too harshly. He used a term that he found unoffensive that a fair amount of people found offensive. Like he said, he's not homophobic or anything (and all of his other posts prove this; just look at his posts in the Gay Marriage thread). He's already been yelled at by Kino (although I don't think such an innocuous offense warranted that reaction).

Er, what I'm saying is that bashing Zeta's moderator abilities--or character-- (which some people have been doing) is a bit unfair...

Zeta, I do not believe Kino or anyone else is trying to make you out as homo-phobic, or any other such nonsense. However, we have been asked by Kimiko, and others have agreed, that we should try to be more respectful in how we approach certain ideas - ESPECIALLY when it has been acknowledged that ItL seems to hold heterosexuality as a minority instead of vice-versa.

I had no idea that using another word instead of "fag" would create such a rift in your lifestyle. Quite honestly, I cannot even believe that this is even an issue. As I expressed to Kino in a PM, I would never EVER create a rule against using "gay" or "fag" unless it was considered trolling. I, myself, have used "how gay is that?" many times. I cannot tell you how many times before I post I've found that I have had to go back and edit myself. It's not a big deal for me, though. I enjoy doing it. I feel it's improving myself and trying to cleanse myself of the hate and negativity, and the sheer close-mindedness of humanity. And I would like to think that my Mods hold these same, if not similar, values.

There are over 250,000 english words that are non-slang, technical, or otherwise useless. You cannot tell me that out of those thousands of words there is not at least ONE synonym that you can think of for "fag"? Sampson has come up with one - "whore".

Honestly, I don't think Kino's intent was for this ever to blow into this sort of confrontation as this has. And personally, I do not feel right about calling you our on it here and in this section, Zeta. I'm not out to publicly embarrass or humiliate you, nor to make you feel uncomfortable. If you do not agree with this idea for whatever reason, please feel free to PM me and we'll discuss it one on one. I stated above I would like to think my mods hold similiar values, however, I also picked you guys carefully because there were enough differences in our thinking that I thought we would be a great team together and you could open my eyes to issues I couldn't think of.

I do feel that at the moment though this is a conversation between mods and I would like to close it right here and now in this main forum. Please, if you do not PM me, let's start a new thread in the Mod section. It isn't good for the kids to see the parents fighting ~_^ and I think this is a serious issue that we really should probably address in house. So, please, no more discussion here.

If anyone, however, would still like to voice an opinion on the matter in one way or another, please PM me and I'll give ear to your concerns. I hope you don't feel that I am closing you out, because that's not it at all.
