When I bought EOII as an "Ooh, I have money, looks alright" kind of thing, there was a copy of EOI I was about to buy, and then I found EOII for cheaper and bought it instead. I only picked up EOII again this summer, and haven't seen it since. I've called every EB games in Calgary, half of them in Winnipeg, but forgot about Video Game Trader. But if I'm playing that game I might as well buy it off ebay. Thanks anyways.

Edit: Game Quest Calgary is out of all three games, that's not a good sign. Looks like I'm going amazon when I have money...

Unfortunately Atlus' games have this tendency of disappearing...most of them never even reach Europe's shelves so I have to look hard on the web.
And yeah, I know they come in very good condition, still it somewhat bothers me to spend the same amout I would pay a sealed game for an used copy (I bought EO1&2 from eBay too for about the same amount and they were near-mint, just the safety precautions booklet was missing)

...of course week later I found EO1 PAL at 9,90€ at a store and I was like FFFFUUU---

So, I'm curious, how are New Year's fireworks handled in other countries?

In the Netherlands, fireworks are prohibited all year, except from 29-12 to 31-12 (sale) and from 31-12 22:00 to 01-01 02:00 (use). There are also heavy restrictions by category of fireworks and age of user. Exceptions for larger, professional displays for holidays or festivities are rare and handled separately. Result of this prohibition is that many people buy their fireworks in Belgium where a lot more is legally available and can be sold year round. By half December, the stuff has filtered through resellers and (illegal) dealers, and folks (mostly teenaged boys of all ages) start to build their private stashes of stuff to set off/blow up at New Year's Eve. Of course, kids being kids, it becomes more irresistible to set off some of it the closer the end of the year comes, so by the end of December, the frequency of smaller and larger bangs ramps up exponentially. Today is the 31st, and I imagine a war zone would be less noisy than this.

Apart from maybe what they have at time square and other similar cities, fireworks aren't that big a deal. Of course, I'm only talking about "through my experiences" as I've heard of quite a few Americans enjoying their fireworks on new year's. I usually see more noise makers and confetti than I've seen fireworks.

Personally in my family, we'll maybe make some quick snacks, fire up the tv and watch the countdown and then go to bed. New Years is not a big deal in my house.

....Actually, for most Americans, New Year's is another excuse to get drunk. My sister and I are either planning on A) purchasing some smirnoffs and staying in or B) missing the countdown and going out to TGI's and getting some good drinks (TGI's because we want to avoid bars and it's one of the few places that are open that late).

:[ 'Cept I can't get her on the phone to confirm our plans. ....... And it's really aweful timing today. I go to work from 11-5 and she works 3-11 tonight. .... >_< And if we are going out she wants me to meet here there. o_O UGGGGG!!

I dunno what we are going to do now. *sigh* I was hoping to get her this morning and finalize our plans. ....... Personally, I'd rather stay in, drink some alcohol stay in my PJs and play some games.

I'll be studying all night unless we watch a movie. I'll try to look up at 11:59 and count down from 10, but that seems so trivial after all the otger math shit I do
