I happened to be on break during the countdown. I went outside, found a nice seat (everyone had crowded around the castle or the Tomorrowland stage, where a band had been playing) looked up and counted down with everyone else. The fireworks that followed were amazing....I'd rather be in Disneyland than Times Square. I took it as a sign that I was sent on break right as that happened...it was so cleansing to feel the year roll over like that, even to hear all the drunk people scream. To think, earlier I had experienced some sort of nervous attack from thinking of things that happened in May...after the fireworks, though, everything drained out of me.
My resolution is to make this the best year of my life!

Happy New Year!
Kimiko, in America the big firework holiday is 4th of July / Independence Day. That's the time of year that most people buy and use their own fireworks. As noodles said, it's a city-by-city type of thing. I grew up living outside the city limits, so we could use all fireworks all the time anytime we wanted. Friends who lived in the city, though, could only use quiet, ground-based fireworks; basically nothing fun.
Also, most towns and cities put on a fireworks display for 4th of July. For New Year's, only the larger ones will do that, and even then it's not that big of a deal.
New Year's is primarily a booze holiday. I was at the liquor store acquiring wine on the 31st, and it was insane. I asked the guy working if this was the absolute busiest they ever get, and he said it was. People usually have a party, the countdown, and continued drinking.
Oh, and I'll be back later this week. Still visiting in Oklahoma dontcha know.

Had a small party at my house. My friend Ken threw up all over himself right as the clock struck midnight, so that was pretty hilarious. It was a pretty good time all around though. As far as resolutions, keep pressing forward in school, don't waste my time working to hard in my dead end job, enjoy myself, treat others well. Same as last year, really.

Hello!
I'm sorry I couldn't greet everyone right on New Year's Day.
But a belated happy new year to ItL! I feel kind of guilty now, because I actually did instead ^^;;
I'll try and be more active, promise! >_<!
