Define "good." It's certainly a very logical reason. I mean, if I hated country music fans, I would be pretty miffed about being mistaken for one.

You can prefer to appear straight and not want to be mistaken for gay even without taking homophobia into account. Like Maxine said, the feeling of false self doubt or the realization that people you know don't know you as well as you thought you did is more hurtful than anything else.
But like I said, I do plenty of things that seem "gay," and I've never really minded being mistaken as gay for those reasons. I would have unrealistic expectations for others otherwise.
