When do people starting knowing what to do, I pretty much have a lack of drive as well.

You figure it out when you figure it out. College is not some magic thing that prepares you for the world or sets you on the path to a happy life.

You get closer to figuring it out by getting off of your butt and getting some real-world experience.

Actually a lot of people never know what to do. It's why loud politics and crazy religious schemes get so popular.

I've still got no clue what the hell I'm going to do with my life or where it's going. It scares the hell out of me sometimes. I've got this crazy scheme that I'm working towards but even that could fall through.

*Shrugs* I don't think I'll ever know my full life path. Even if my schemes work, I could end up hating it. But here's what I feel

Before I signed up for college I had a choice: be a medical student and my path would be pretty decently figured out, or take the writing path, have no fuggin' clue but probably have a lot of fun. If nothing worked out, I've got no regrets because I absolutely love my writing and at the end of the day it's what I want to do in some form. *shrugs* I made my choice. I don't regret it. But then I sometimes stop and think maybe I do ultimately know where my life is going in some way. Maybe not the final destination but I do know one thing for certain: I'm doing what I love.

I'm 27, still living with my parents, have a bunch of crazy ass dreams which include everything from writing books to being a gaming journalist. It would feel good to know where my life is going but I think I'm really content with things as they are progressing. Maybe it's not what I'd have wanted 10 years ago, but then again, 10 years ago I thought I was going to be in the medical field and I'd have probably been fucking miserable.

err, not that I know how my story here helps you but o_O; umm, this is me, I guess.

My plan was simple. Work; get food for free; save money from swedish minimum wage; do whatever the hell I like forever. :3

Stumbled on "work". That part didn't get as much parental approval as I would have preferred. Also not even McDonalds hire much anymore.

Certainly college can help you figure out what you're interested in and such but as has been pointed out it doesn't magically give you purpose or direction in life. You figure your shit out when you figure it out. I think the trick is to not let college become the postponement of growing up that most people make it. I've seen a lot of people become stagnant and depressed after emerging from the ivory tower with a degree and no earthly idea of how to be an adult.

For me it was my time out of college that was most important in sorting my shit out, figuring out what I wanted to do. I spent almost 3 years dropped out and in the work force while most of my friends went to school. It was certainly depressing but I probably learned more about myself and the world around me in that short period then i have while attending school.

Long story short: Life will make sense someday, but you need to get out and experience it first. College can be a great way to test the water but never assume its the be all end all.

Simple narration.

It is funny because I am actually a great voice actor and have spent nine years of my life acting. Though in this case, I want to just have natural, relaxed, non-crazy narration. My natural voice is so awkward. Really do not want to voice act for this.
